This is a celebration of the great man’s birthday and takes place every year on Martin Luther King Boulevard. The event is highlighted by floats, live bands and an array of church choirs.

 Wedding On Ice   East Coast Jazz Festival

The perfect way to spend Valentine’s Day is renewing your wedding vows on the ice at the Inner Harbor Ice Rink. The ceremony takes place at midday.

   
This is where you can see the best emerging jazz talents in the region. This competition is sponsored by the Fish Middleton Jazz Scholarship Fund and takes place at various venues.

Maryland Home & Garden Show  
This annual event takes place at the Maryland State Fairgrounds and showcases the newest DIY, garden and other accessories. The highlight is the display of seasonal wines.

Major League Baseball   Baltimore Jewish Film Festival
This is the best way to really experience the USA’s culture first-hand. Even if you are not a baseball fan, the crowd experience and entertainment will make it all worthwhile.    
For a taste of culture, you can choose from eight international Jewish-themed films from around the world. This takes place at the Gordon Center for Performing Arts.

The Preakness  
This annual horseracing event at the Primlico Track has been happening for well over a century. This is one of the highlights of the equestrian calendar and attracts many of Baltimore’s top celebrities.

Summer Concert Series   Capital Jazz Fest
For another dose of culture, the Harborplace Amphitheatre is the venue for live bands every Friday evening.    
The summer months are a cause for celebration. This jazz festival runs for three days at the Merriweather Post Pavillion and attracts some of the biggest jazz stars from the region.

Nation’s Ethnic Festivals   Artscape
Baltimore has a very diverse culture, and this festival highlights all the different foods, music and dance from its various sub-cultures.    
This is one of the biggest events of its kind, held on Royal Mount Avenue. Three full stages are erected and over 100 musical and performance shows take place across numerous genres.

USS Constellation Museum Anniversary Celebration   German Festival

This is a great place to take the kids. The massive warship is open to public tours and there is also an artillery display to start off the live entertainment.

   

Carroll Park is the venue for this annual weekend picnic with a celebration of German food and entertainment. This is also a very children-friendly and wholesome environment.

Irish Festival   Atlantic Stampede
The city has always had a big Irish presence and this festival, which takes place at the Fifth Regiment Armory, celebrates traditional Irish food, crafts and live entertainment.    

This event is something completely different – it showcases a gay rodeo and steer decorating. Taking place at the Montgomery Fairgrounds, this event is always a huge crowd pleaser.

Baltimore International Rhythm and Drumming Society (B.I.R.D.S.) Festival  

This festival promotes world peace through a series of group drumming events at the St. John’s Church.

   
   
  November
Festival of Trees  

Every year at the Maryland State Fairgrounds, hundreds of trees are decorated by local artists to create an enchanted forest. The proceeds go to the Krieger Kennedy Institute for children with brain disorders.

   
   
   December
Washington Monument Lighting Ceremony  

The festive season kicks off with fireworks and school choirs at Charles Street and Mount Vernon Place. This is a great way to get into the holiday spirit.
